POWERMASTER IS THE WORLD’S FIRST & ONLY RETRO-FIT PROGRAMABLE SYSTEM WITH INTELLIGENT POWER OPTIMISER & VARIABLE CURRENT AND SPEED CONTROL FOR MOST OLDER HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED WOOLPRESSES
DO ANY OF THESE FACTORS BELOW RELATE TO YOUR WOOLPRESS ?
POOR POWER SUPPLY & TRIPPING CIRCUIT BREAKERS
With many graziers operating in remote areas, getting good consistent power to the shed is always a challenge.
With many using a SWER (Single Wire Earth Return) supply that uses unusually long spans of cable, Power/Voltage drop is common. But thanks to PowerMaster, the inbuilt VSD manages the power from as low as 180v AC up to 250v AC without tripping the circuit breakers in shed.
Remember, with a traditional Woolpress as the voltage drops, or with cold start up – the amperage/current goes up and will eventually trip circuit breakers. This is not the case with PowerMaster. The VSD converts the single-phase power into a smooth controlled output driving a much more powerful & robust 3 phase electric motor without capacitors that often blow on traditional wool presses.
With the above in mind and other operational factors, the AUSSIE WOOLPRESS engineers set out providing a set of robust solutions to these problems that are outlined below
Ask Yourself – Is Your Woolpress?
Choose to operate your PowerMaster from either a Standard keypad control or Touchscreen.
The Touchscreen option comes with integrated bale weight scales & optional traffic light style machine status warning tower.
One of the biggest issues behind circuit breaker trip outs and burnt-out motors is that of low voltage. When low voltage is present, the current draw rises substantially putting pressure not only on shearing shed circuit breakers but motor windings also. The PowerMaster automatically regulates for low voltage and thus gives the protection you need.
No problem. PowerMaster intelligently takes normal single phase power from your wall socket and converts it to a 3 phase output that drives the electric motor.
There are many woolpresses in Australia, many of which are no longer made. As guide though, if your woolpress is hydraulically operated, a PowerMaster system can be fitted. Most Lyco, Stevlyon, macbro and some TPW models can be fitted with PowerMaster
Correct. The PowerMaster system comes with a potentiometer that can be used change the maximum current draw of the press. This means you can turn the press down to draw less power or crank it up to achieve a faster cycle time!
PowerMaster can be installed by individuals, but you will need bracketry to suit your particular press. We recommend that units are fitted by our network of specialist dealers Click here
Yes, you can. Just be sure that the equipment used to run PowerMaster has some form Automatic Voltage Control. You are also able to use PowerMaster if your property is connected using SWER (Single Wire Earth Return) power.
YES. Retro-fit kits are available for most models of woolpress. Just tell us the make and model you wish to update and we can advise.
The new PowerMaster will run to the power supplied in your shed. The PowerMaster adjusts power so when then the voltage decreases and the Amps increase, your circuit will be protected and your press will keep working in ever changing conditions.
Once the machine is stripped of its existing hydraulic setup, its on average 2 hour assembly time as all the components come pre assembled
The stipulation is that the steady states voltage must be within the range 216 Volts to 253 Volts. It was formerly 240V -10%, + 6%, i.e. 226 to 254V. Your old Woolpress motor may not work under the new lower range of 216 volts now as was designed for a good 240 volt supply when it was made . The “PowerMaster” kit can solve this issues as it can handle as low as 200 volts.
